Mary was born about 1826. She is the daughter of Harvey Kingsbury and Polly Wright. She married her sister's widower Henry E. H. Gilbert. She passed away in 1902.

Mary was a life long resident of Coventry, Connecticut. She probably was born while the family lived at Wright's Mill. The family later moved to North Coventry to a large house and farm once owned by the Grant family. She lived in multi-generational households with extended family. She raised her step-daughters, Annie and Hattie. She seems to have been interested in genealogy. She researched and supplied information for the Kingsbury Genealogy. [2]

The family story I heard was that MJKG was an "old tarter". The story came from her great niece by marriage, Mary Chase Storrs, who knew her when MCS was a little girl growing up in Coventry.
