Biography
John was the son of Nathaniel and Melinda (Colton) Kinner. He was married to Elizabeth Field, and they had eleven children: Carrie, Laura, Charles, Harry, Elizabeth, John, Olive, Alice, Grace, Hazel, and Lynn.
As a member of Company C, Third Colorado Cavalry, John Kinner participated on the side of the Union in the Sand Creek Massacre.
