Ephraim Kinney (9SPM-WK8) married Hannah Burwell (9SPM-WKJ) on 7 September 1843, in Union County, Ohio, which was less than three weeks before the time Jonathan and Mary were married. The marriage record stated that the brother of Hannah was there but did not provide a name. There was no Hannah listed in FamilySearch as a sister to Jonathan, however, it may likely be possible as children sometimes slip through the cracks. Further research would be needed to verify.
In 1850, Jonathan and Mary were living in McDonough County, Illinois. Ephraim and Hannah were living in Astoria, Fulton, Illinois. Fulton, which was the county to the East of McDonough. In 1860, as mentioned earlier, Ephraim was living in Iowa near David Elifritz. Jonathan and Mary's son, Levi Burwell (L513-RYW), was born in Iowa in 1858. Jonathan and Mary were likely visiting David and Sarah Burwell Elifritz and Ephraim and Hannah Burwell Kinney at the time when Mary went into labor.
In 1880, Ephraim was living in Swan Township, Taney, Missouri. Again, this was the same county that Jonathan Burwell and David Elifritz lived, however in different townships. It may be likely that Ephraim Kinney was the brother of Mary Kinney. Sarah was the aunt to Jonathan. The relationship with Hannah was not yet verified but may likely be a sister or other close relative to Jonathan.
In 1840, the grandmother of Jonathan, Hannah Vangorden (K2JV-D5Z) was living in Allen Township, Union County, Ohio, which was the place Jonathan/Mary and Ephraim/Hannah were married. Rachel Burwell (2M5B-HGS), the aunt of Jonathan, married Daniel Allen. In 1840, an Elijah Kinney was also living in Union County. The tick marks in the census were correct according to the ages, if Elijah were the father of Ephraim and Mary, who both married in 1843. However, this theory has yet to be proven. There was another Kinney living in Union County at the time, however, the tick marks were not a match to Mary and Ephraim living at home in 1840 until they married in 1843.
Elijah Kinney was not yet added to FamilySearch as this was only a theory and not yet proven. Help is needed to either prove or disprove the theory that Ephraim Kinney was the brother and Elijah Kinney was the father to Mary Kinney, who was married to Jonathan Burwell, 28 September 1843 in Union County, Ohio. Help is also needed to verify the relationship of Hannah Burwell to Jonathan Burwell.
