Biography

Mary was born in 1817.

Mary Jane Kinzie married William H H Strouse on 12 Jul 1849 in Floyd, Indiana, United States.[1][2][3]

In the 1850 census Mary (age 33) was in New Albany City, Floyd, Indiana, United States.[4][5]

In the 1860 census Mary (age 40) was in Wood Township, Clark, Indiana, United States.[6][7]

In the 1870 census Mary (age 52) was in Greenville, Floyd, Indiana, United States.[8]

In the 1880 census Mary (age 53) was the wife of William H. Strouse in Steele Township, Daviess, Indiana, United States. She was a Keeping House.[9]

Mary J Strouse was mentioned in her husband's civil War Pension record in Feb 28 1894 in Indiana, when she was a widow. She was originally entered on Jul 23 1887. [10]

In the 1900 census Mary (age 83) was the widowed 'mother-in-law' of Riley Wood in Washington, Daviess, Indiana, United States. Her daughter Henrietta 'Jennie' was married to Riley Wood. [11]

She passed away 8 May 1907.[12]

The information about the two daughters on Find-a-Grave is great! I'm almost ready to approve the merge. But what about the part where it says in the Biography: "Mary had a child Riley Wood abt 1846." ? Any idea what that's about?
