Ruth Kirby married Richard Cowley on 13 November 1621 in London. ^[1]

Their children appear to have been christened in St Botolph's, Bishopsgate, London.

• Just under a year after their marriage they had a son, John Cowley, christened on 05 November 1622 ^[2]
• A few years later they had a daughter, Mary Cowley, who was christened on 07 October 1627 ^[3]
• They had a further son, Richard Cowley, who was christened on 16 May 1630 ^[4]

Research Notes

This casts doubt on the suggestion that Ruth was born in 1582: giving birth at the age of 48 would perhaps have been uncommon in the 17th century. It is possible that there are two Ruth Kirbys who have been confused with one another.
