Fay Everett Kirby was born in 1892 in Moody, South Dakota, United States. He was the eldest son of Charles Alonzo Kirby and Mary Elizabeth Hahn.[1]
In 1900 Fay was 8 yrs. old and lived with his parents and four younger siblings in Flandreau Township Flandreau village, Moody, South Dakota, United States. His father was a farm laborer and they rented a house.[2]
In 1905, Fay was 12 yrs. old and was going to school in Trenton, Brookings, South Dakota.[3]
In 1910 Fay was 19 yrs. old and lived in River View, Moody, South Dakota, United States; working as a hired man.[4] Fay may have migrated to Saskatchewan Canada in 1911.
About 1914, Fay married Marie Sorenson. Their children were:
Their first son Glen was born in March 1915 in Moose Jaw No. 161, Saskatchewan, Canada.[5] They then had two more children: Evelyn and Vernice. About 1920 Fay brought his family back to Riverview, Moody, South Dakota, United States to farm. There, two more sons were born: Fabian and Francis Kirby.[6] Shortly after, they returned to Saskatchewan, Canada. In 1926 Fay was 33 yrs. old and had five children at home. Cited in the census was an immigration date of 1911 and naturalization of 1917 for Fay and Marie.[7]
They had three more children: Lena Ardel Kirby MacNamara (1926-1966), Dorothy Mildred Kirby Halbert Davis (1928-2017), and Mervin Dale Kirby (1937-1998).
Fay passed away at 62 yrs. old in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, Canada. Fay was mentioned on a memorial in Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw, Moose Jaw Census Division, Saskatchewan, Canada with a death date of Jun 1955.[8]
