Biography

Son of William Elvin Kirk and Rebecca Frances Smith.

Husband of Samantha J. Osborn.

Josiah was a Union soldier in the Civil War. He enlisted in the 3rd Missouri State Militia Cavalry, Co. G in March of 1862 and was transferred to the 7th Missouri State Militia Cavalry, Co. K. He was mustered out in April 1865. Josiah died seven years later at the age of 31. [1]
