• I made a search of Wick, Caithness, Scotland births and did not find a William Kirk b 1831, only a William Kirk b 1839.
• The other name on the headstone above William Kirk was also born in Wick, Caithness, which is N.B. or North Britain, as my grandfather used to quote his address as, and not N.B. as in New Brunswick, Canada.
