Biography

John KIRKHAM was born/christened on 20 October 1818 in Parwich, Derbyshire, England^[1]. He was the son of Samuel KIRKHAM and Esther ALSOP.

Sarah POTTER and John KIRKHAM were married on 2 June 1842 in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England^[2].

The ship, Delta set sail from Plymouth, England on 4 August 1850 with the KIRKHAM family among the cabin passengers and arrived in Port Adelaide, Province of South Australia on 31 October 1850^[3][4]. The KIRKHAM family consisted of John, his wife, Sarah and their surviving children, John, Mary and Tom. Also on board were John's widowed, mother, Esther, siblings, Elisabeth, Ellen, Christina, Esther, William, Samuel and Sarah, her husband, Charles Staley KEELING and their children.
