Eunice married Ervin Ransome Hefley (26 Jan 1923 - 18 Feb 1992), son of Verde Hefley and his first wife Charlotte Dewey (Beckman) Hefley (1898 - 1946), on 12 Oct 1946 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon.

Funeral for William Michael Hefley who was killed in a traffic accident last Tuesday, will be at II a.m. Friday in St. Johns Christian Church. His body will be interned in Skyline Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hefley, a lifelong resident of Portland, was 28.
At age 16, he began working with the Albertson's grocery chain and rose to the position of manager. He attended Okinawa Christian School, Ockley Green Grade School, and Jefferson High School in Portland.
Surviving are his parents, Ervin R. and Eunice M. Hefley of Portland; two brothers, Ervin Jr. of Springfield and James of Portland; a sister, Peggy Clarke of Vancouver, Wash.; grandparents, Verd and Emma Hefley of Scappoose: and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles in the Portland area.

Catheryn E. Smith of Longview died July 8, 1998, at a Portland hospital. Mrs. Smith was born March 9, 1921, in Cedaredge, Colo., to Verd and Charlotte Hefley. She lived in Eckert, Colo., and graduated from high school there. She moved to Longview in 1942 and worked for Longview Fibre Co. She married LeRoy P. Smith in 1944 and they moved into a home on Columbia Heights, where she lived until her death. Her husband died in 1974.
She had a dog kennel in the 1960s and she was an avid bingo player. She loved her children and grandchildren and her Chihuahuas. Survivors include a son, Gary L. Smith at home; a daughter, Betty Mitchell of Kelso; two brothers, Jerry Hefley of Longview and Verd Hefley of Castle Rock; three step-sisters, Eunice Hefley, Mabel Ramsdell, and Roberta Shackleton of Portland; two step-brothers, Bob Kirkland of Portland and Charles Kirkland in Colorado; her step-mother, Emma Hefley of Portland; and two grandsons.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bunker Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Giles officiating.
