Mr. and Mrs. Harley Kirkland are at present receiving congratulations on the arrival of a bonny son, makinq the fifth son. Both mother and baby are' going along well in the Daphne Bowman hospital.

PAINFUL ACCIDENT.
On Sunday last, while returning to Merriwa to entrain for Rutherford camp, Mr. Harley Kirkland, of 'Rotherwood,' met with a painful accident. It appears that, after reaching the tarred road, the horse Mr. Kirkland was riding slipped and fell. In endeavouring to put his horse to rights the animal lashed out and kicked the rider in the knee, making a wound which necessitated several stitches, after which he was conveyed to the Daphne Bowman Hospital.

Another son has been born to Mr. & Mrs. Harley Kirkland, making the tenth son. Mrs. Harley is very disappointed, but nevertheless she is very proud of him. Both are going along very well in the Daphne Bowman Hospital.

The death occurred at Mudgee on Friday, November 5, of well-known Cassilis identity Harley Kirkland, aged 69. The late Harley Kirkland, a native of Cassilis spent his working life in the district where he was held in the highest esteem. Surviving members of his family are his wife, Elizabeth and sons Bill, Phillip, Brian and Noel. Four sons predeceased their father. The funeral service was held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Cassilis on Saturday, November 6, the Rev. Father Delaney officiating.
