Alternate birth place of New Jersey. No sources. Youngstown seems more specific for location.
Alternate date of death 1856? Again no details. Using more specific date.
Research Notes
Place of Birth:
This profile reflects his place of birth as Ohio in 1769. The Treaty of Fort Stanwix in 1768 explicitly reserved lands north and west of the Ohio as Native lands.[1] It is unlikely he was born in this territory.
Find A Grave Memorial reflects his place of birth as Somerset County, New Jersey. This place of birth is more likely to be correct but no source is provided on Find A Grave.[2]
Parents:
Find A Grave Memorial and FamilySearch both reflect that his parents were John Kirkpatrick and Lydia Lewis. John and Lydia did have a son named Thomas but there is no confirmation he was Thomas that married Phoebe Baldwin.
Genealogy of the Kirkpatrick Family, Chapter II, Page 8 states, "Thomas Kirkpatrick went west, married and reared a family. He was at Bellefontaine, O., in 1834." This still does not confirm Thomas that married Phoebe Baldwin as a son.[3]

Thomas is being removed as a child of Margaret Gaston. None of the Gaston or Kirkpatrick Family Genealogies identify a child of Andrew and Margaret named Thomas. All state that they had one son, Alexander. Descendants of Thomas have qualified for DAR membership through Andrew Kirkpatrick and Margaret Gaston. If someone has the documents that proved these were his parents the connection will be restored.
