Biography
Story is that Gideon was a red-headed Irishman from South Carolina. This does ring true in that Gideon's birthplace was South Carolina. This is substantiated proof through the census records where he states that he was born in South Carolina.
The red heads are more like having red highlights.
Gideon Kirksey was a miller. From the research, he did not own property. He did not leave a will.
Was he in Butts Co with his brother William in 1827? William married there at that time. Gideon married Nancy Kirksey in Butts Co., GA 8 July 1830.
