Peter Kirschbaum was born in Denmark

Jens Peter Lauritz "Peter" Kirschbaum blev født den 31 maj 1876, in Nordby, Ribe, Danmark, søn af Niels Kirschbaum og hans kone Elise Kristine Christensen, and døbt på 18 juni in Nordby (Fanø) Sogn, Danmark.[1] [2]

In 1880,the Kirschbaum family was living at Nykøbing Sjælland, Ods, Holbæk, Danmark. Home at the time were Niels (35), Elise Christine (31), Jens Peter (3), Helga Dagmar Gunhelde (1), Anna Reidl (14), and Emma Christin Mathilte Willumsen (12).[3]

In 1890, the Kirschbaum family was living in København, Danmark. Home at the time were Niels (45), Elise Kristine (42), Jens Peter (13), Helga Dagmar (11), Niels Harald (9), and Magdalene (6).[4]

On the 13th April 1890, Jens Peter was Confirmed in København, Danmark. [5]

In 1903 Jens Peter emigrated to the United States, landing in California. It was after this that he began being known as "Peter".
On the 12th March 1908, Peter and Marie/Maria/Mimi/Mamie Bünemann were married, in San Jose, Santa Clara, California, by Charles W Davison, Justice of the Peace; with their witnesses being Wilhelm Jungblut (a cousin of Marie's), and L. Ziegler.[6] Peter and Marie subsequently had one known child, a daughter: Eleanor Catherine, in September 1909.
When the voter registration lists were compiled in 1908, Peter was listed as living at 1512 9th Street. Alameda, California.[7]

On the 20th April 1910, the Peter Kirschbaum family was living on 9th Street, Oakland, Alameda, California. Home at the time were Peter (35), the steward of a restaurant, his wife: Mamie (24), and their 7-month-old daughter: Eleanor.[8]

On the 12th September 1918, Peter's draft registration describes him as being of medium height, stout of build, and with blond hair and blue eyes. His address was given as 607 Taylor Ave, Alameda County, California.[9]

On the 12th January 1920, the Kirschbaum family was living on Taylor Street, Alameda City. Home at the time were Peter (44), the proprietor of a lunch parlor, his wife: Minnie (33),and their daughter: Eleanor (10).[10]

Jens Peter Lauritz "Peter" Kirschbaum passed away sometime after the voter registrations of 1928 were collected (when he was listed as living at Taylor Avenue, Alameda City), and before the 2nd April 1930, as in the census enumerated on the latter date Mimi is listed as a widow living in the household of her son-in-law.[11]
