Elizabeth was born in Missouri to German immigrants. She married AG Clarke, a merchant and later attorney. She and her husband lived in Glendale MT and later Helena, MT. They had four children, two of whom died in childhood. After her husband's death, Elizabeth lived in Helena with her son Albert and later her sister in law Emma. She and Emma died in an apartment fire in January 1944.
