Biography

William was born 26 May 1852 in Jasper, New York to William Kirtland and Lydia Talbot. He married Emma Clark about 1879, probably in or near Tioga County, Pennsylvania. In the 1900 census 8 children are named:

  • Richmond G., b. Jan 1880
  • Bertha E., b. Jan 1882
  • Myrtle H., b. Aug 1884
  • Eula M., b. Mar 1886
  • Dora A., b. Jun 1888
  • Elwin W., b. Sep 1890
  • Ivan N., b. Dec 1892
  • Mabel B., b. Oct 1895

In the 1910 census, William is listed as a widower, so Emma probably died between 1900 and 1910. William died 22 Feb 1929 at the home of his daughter Mabel in Elkland, Pennsylvania. He is supposed to be buried in Knoxville, Pennsylvania.
