Frederick William Kirtland was born on 29 January 1843 in Merton, Oxfordshire, England, United Kingdom.^[1] He was the son of William Kirtland and Mary Brooks.

Frederick died on 1 May 1918 in Bicester, Oxfordshire, when he was 75 years old.^[2]

He is almost certainly the Frederick Kirtland who married Mary Ann Onion in 1871 in Northill, Bedfordshire. By 1881 they were living in Bicester. They had several children:

He is probably the Frederick Kirtland, age 75, whose death was registered in Bicester Apr-May-Jun 1918.
