Biography

Daughter of Mathias Kissinger and Sarah Ryland Cox.

Wife of Rev. William E. Wilmot. Married 6 Aug 1846.

Mother of John Bruce Wilmot, Laura Clay Wilmot Luckey, Sophia Wilmot Egli, Arlie Wilmot (died in infancy) and infant male (died in infancy; name unknown).

Obituary, Eugene Morning Register, Thurs., 16 Jun, 1904. "Rachael Wilmot, daughter of Matthias and Sarah Kissinger, was born in Knox county, Tenn., March 27, 1824; emigrated with her parents to Kentucky in 1845; was married to her now bereaved husband, the Rev. W. E. Wilmot, August 6, 1846. She died at her home, Fall Creek, Oregon, June 11, 1904, aged 80 years, 2 months and 15 days. Deceased united with the Methodist Episcopal church in the year 1840, lived a consistent Christian life up the time of her death."

"She was the mother of five children, two of whom died in infancy. Her only son died in Springfield, Oregon, 1890. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lucy C. Luckey and Mrs. Sophi B. Egli, a number of grandchildren, one brother, John Kissinger of Fall Creek, and many friends to mourn her death. {Editor's note: surviving daughter Lucy C. Luckey is Laura Clay WILMOT Luckey}"
