Biography
Sarah's first husband was Kyle Scott, son of Robert. Kyle and Sarah were married 13 Apr 1854 in Giles County, Virginia.[1]
Sarah was the second wife of Lewis Allen Epling. Lewis Allen Epling had three wives named Sarah.
Sarah J. Scott, daughter of Andrew and Delilah Kipinger, married Lewis Epling, son of Philip and Catherine Epling, 7 Sep 1858 in Pearisburg, Giles, Virginia. Both bride and groom were widowed.[2]
Sarah and Lewis are found in the 1860 Census for Giles County, Virginia. Children in the household were William Epling, age 13; James Epling, age 10; John Epling, age 8 and Sarah Epling, infant.[3]
They were the parents of Sarah E. Epling Kirk, 1859-1945[4] and George Allen Epling, 1862-1930. [5]
By 1868, Lewis was married to Sarah Isabell Kissinger in Gallia County, Ohio.
