Biography
Sterling Bert Kitchens was born on October 12, 1903, in Waldo, Columbia, Arkansas. His parents were James Monroe Kitchens and Margarette Frances Sherrill. He married Willie Montyne Shields on June 6, 1931, and they had one son, Alex Shields Kitchens. He was a doctor and lived most of his life in La Fayette, Walker, Georgia. He died on February 14, 2000, in Chattanooga, Hamilton, Tennessee, and was buried in La Fayette Cemetery.

- In 1910 and 1920, he lived in Magnolia, Columbia, Arkansas with his parents and siblings.
- In 1930, he moved to La Fayette, Walker, Georgia, and married Willie Montyne Shields the next year.
- In 1935 and 1936, he lost both of his parents, who died in Columbia, Arkansas.
- In 1940 and 1950, he lived in Walker, Georgia with his wife and son.
- In 1946, his son Alex S Kitchens was born in Georgia.
- Between 1952 and 1984, he lost all his twelve siblings who died in various places.
- In 1994, he lost his wife, who died in Walker, Georgia after 63 years of marriage.
- In 2000, he died in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at the age of 96.
