Elizabeth Kite was born at Gundagai, Colony of New South Wales, on the 20th of April 1864, the daughter of Mary Kite, an unwed mother.[1]
Elizabeth McIntyre Kite married David Huckel at Young, Colony of New South Wales, in 1889.[2]
Elizabeth Huckel passed away in March 1898, after contracting measles, and the death of her infant son who had also died previously from the same ailment. She left three small children.
Research Notes
Elizabeth Kite daughter of Mary, matches the birth index and her headstone dates. He death has not been found in the NSW BMD index.
A Mary Kite married John Blackburn at Gundagai on the 22nd of February 1864.
Lizzie Huckel has a headstone in the Cowra Cemetery.
Other sources say she was the daughter of Peter Purss and Margaret Kite who married at Young in 1868.
Margaret Kite/Purss had no illegitimate daughter named Elizabeth.
Experience suggests that Elizabeth's father's surname was McIntyre. There is no other discovered explanation for using it as a middle name.
