Harvey was born about 1878. Harvey died of a crushed skull and other injuries brought on by a fall from farm wagon near his home on Paddle Creek, Fort Gay, West Virginia. Harvey was buried in the Kitts Cemetery, Fort Gay, Wayne County, West Virginia where he was born and raised.
