Regina was born on March 18 or March 29, 1874 in the little village of Kadłubek near Sienno in Radom County, Poland. She is the daughter of Gottlieb Kleemann and Luise Bloch or Schmidtke. Her family was of Pomeranian origin and moved eastwards to Volhynia where they settled and farmed with thousands of other Germans.
On July 6, 1899 she married Emil Busse in a village called Schoitschufka near Wladimir-Wolynsk, Volhynia. The couple had 12 children.
Her husband Emil died in an accident on February 17, 1931. Regina and at least two of her children (Gottlieb and Wilhelm) had to leave Volhynia on December 20, 1939 as the result of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. They arrived at a German resettlement camp in Pabianice on January 4, 1940. A few years the family could live in Lask near Łódź (at that time Litzmannstadt) until they had to leave again, when the Russian Red Army conquered more and more parts of Eastern Germany at the end of World War II.
Regina died on January 18, 1946 in Zeuthen near Berlin.
