Nicolas Klein was born in Rahling on 10 Dec 1844[1]. He was the son of Jean Klein and Anne-Marie Dannenhoffer. His parents were not married at the time but they married a short time later, and he is mentioned in their marriage record.
He immigrated to the United States with his parents in about 1848.
