Christian was born in 1838 to Carl Kleine and Anna Ilsabein.[1] At age fourteen, he migrated with his parents and siblings to the United States aboard the ship Juno, arriving in New York in 1852.[2] He married Louise Meier in 1859.[3] He passed away in 1902. [4]
