Johannis was born on 25 January 1844 in Deurne en Liessel in the Netherlands as the second-born and oldest surviving child of Johannes Klerks and Johanna Klerks - Berkers.[1]
On 17 February 1881 he married Anna Maria van Eijk, his first wife. The marriage took place in Lierop.[2] Anna Maria passed away in 1882, leaving Johannis a widower.[3]
On 17 October 1883 he married Antoneth Peters, his second wife. The marriage took place in Someren.[4]
Johannis was a farm servant at the time of his first marriage.[2] Later he was a farmer.[4][5]
His second wife Antoneth passed away in 1895, leaving Johannis a widower for the second time.[6] Johannis passed away on 8 January 1903 in Lierop at the age of 73.[5]
