Mary was born in 1764. Mary Kline ... She passed away in 1849. [1]
Obituary: Margaret Bruner, reliet of Jacob Bruner, bade adieu to this vale of sorrow at her resident in Greene County, Tennessee, on the fifteenth of May 1849. She was born in Fredericktown, Maryland on February 28, 1764 and was united in marriage with Jacob Bruner on May 29, 1784 and some time afterwards removed to Virginia and settled in Shanandoah County. In 1804 she removed with her husband and family to Tennessee and settled in Greene County. In 1807 she became a member of the M. E. church and soon afterwards professed religion. She remained a member in the church until death ended her earthly pilgrimage, a period of 45 years. Nor were these years of gloom and darkness for her. They were years of comfort---of pure religious enjoyment. Her's was the "ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price". She endeavored to "adorn the doctrines of God our Savior in all things". Hardly ever did she fail to obtain a blessing when attending the worship of God. She delighted much in God's house and in the company of His children. She had a large family of nine sons and three daughters. These she took pains to train in the way they should go. They were the subjects of her prayers, of her most tender and deep concern. Great anxiety did she feel for their eternal well being. Nor were her pious efforts in vain. She lived to see most of her children converted to God, in the church and on their way to heaven. She was confined to her bed but few days during which time she suffered but little pain. One of her sons visited her frequently before her death and conversed freely with her on the subject. She told him she was ready and waiting to go and at times seemed almost impatient to be gone. Whenever the subject was mentioned she would clap her hands and shout aloud for joy. She died without a struggle or groan closing her own eyes, and no one looking on perhaps could have told but what she had fallen into sleep. May all her children meet her in heaven.
