Anders Gustaf was born in Malma parish 27 March 1833 to unwed Maja Greta Jansdotter in Jäxbo.[1][2] [3] In 1837 he moved with his mother to Nyhammar in Hed parish, where his mother had married the crofter Lars Norberg (born in Norrbärke). Anders Gustav is in the household records as Anders Gustav Kling (it sounds as if his father might have been a soldier.[4][5] The family moved to Ålsbo in 1841.[6] Anders Gustaf's stepfather died in 1851, and about the same time he started using the surname Norberg, perhaps when he went to Västra Skedvi to find work.[7]
In 1853 Anders Gustaf Norberg came from Västra Skedvi to Born in Skinnskatteberg parish.[8] He married Anna Lisa Andersdotter 25 March 1855.[9] Their daughter Emma Christina was born in June 1855 and in October they moved to Fellingsbro parish.
They didn't stay there for long, In 1856 they turn up at Nyhammar in Hed.[10] In 1863 they move to Bysala in Hed.[11] Anders Gustaf and Anna Lisa had at least eight children.[12] In 1881 more or less the whole family went to North America.[13]
There is a record of the family in the Minnesota census for 1895. Andrew Gustaf Norberg with his wife Ann Eliza Norberg live in Thompson, Kittson, with five grandchildren Bernström: Werner, Emil, August, Oscar and Ida.[14]
Anders Gustaf Norberg and Anna Lisa Andersdotter returned to Sweden in 1899 with a granddaughter, Ida Kristina Bernström and their youngest son Per August Norberg. They lived in Bråten in Hed parish.[15] Anders Gustaf Norberg died from a heart condition 25 March 1903.[16]
