Biography
Carl Wilhelm Klingner was born in Semmelwitz, Silesia on 12 July 1826.
He migrated to Australia on the Wilhelmsburg, arriving in Melbourne in August 1853.[1]
He moved to South Australia, and married Anna Elisabeth Knuschke on 19 April 1856 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Light Pass.[2] He was naturalised on 7 June 1856.[1]
The couple had ten children, most born at Stockwell:[3]

- Johannes Rudolph Klingner 27 August 1879
He worked as a wheelwright, and the couple established their family at Light Pass and later Stockport (believed to be Section 230, Hundred of Moorooroo). They moved to Section 391 Hundred of Dutton at Stonefield in 1877 (rented until 1886, then bought from the Government). He also rented sections 392 and 398W Hundred of Dutton and Section 234S Hundred of Anna for a total of 739 acres.[1]
He died aged 85 at Steinfeld on 16 May 1912[4] and is buried at Stonefield St Stephens's Lutheran Cemetery.[5]
