Biography

Philip was born about 1680. Philipp Glump ... He passed away about 1765.

Treated by Jones (1985) with Hunter lists id #242 and uncertainty about his origin. He offers as “the best potential clue” about the family the Roßdorf record of a marriage Oct. 4 1703 between Johan Philip Klumpf and Anna Clara Ruhel, perhaps the first marriage of the immigrant. He goes on to suggest that Philip went on to marry Anna Margaretha Veronica (—-) whose LNAB may have been Schäffer (p. 290f). The Hunter lists data make it appear that Philip and his wife had 2 children by 1711 and were with 1 child at Heesburg [East Camp] for the Simmendinger list 6 years later (p. 290). Jones names 11 children and 30 grandchildren (p. 291ff).
