Something is amiss here. I think the 1666 birth records belong to the father, and this Richard was born about 1695. Maybe both father and son died in 1723, but then why is the older one known as jr.?
There are some interesting looking probate records on NEHGS, but the web site is misbeaving right now. Also take a look at "Four Generations" if I can find it.
