Biography
Joseph Knight was the son of Giles Knight and Elizabeth James, b. 14 Feb 1738/9.[1] Elizabeth James was the first wife of Giles Knight. Joseph married (1) Rachel Townsend abt. 1761 (2) Elizabeth Woolston in 1771. Joseph and Rachel Townsend had two known children- Sarah and Elizabeth. Joseph and Elizabeth Woolston had five known children, Rachel, Mary, Susanna, John and Joseph. Joseph died abt. 1799, his will was probated on 12 Oct 1799, naming his wife Elizabeth and his children Sarah Knight, Susanna Knight, Joseph Knight, Elizabeth Brown, Rachel Hulme, and Mary Hulme. Joseph died 3 Oct 1799, several months after his father Giles.[2]https://www.ancestry.com/sharing/23018407?h=df6531 His will was probated on 12 Oct 1799[3]
