Digital Afterlife Instructions: this is my permission that upon my death, for Jesse Jepson first, then second my family, third the WikiTree staff, to manage the profiles and space pages where I act as PM in any way they see fit, as ling as this is in line with the Honor Code and preserves the privacy of living people. I wish all profiles of living people and private tree spaces (those that aren’t part of project work) of which I am the only PM to be managed by Jesse Jepson or his designee. I was looking around for information on the Cartwright family from Pasquotank County, N.C., which are related to my father’s ancestors, but I find very little on them. I ran across Joseph Cartwright who died in Franklin County, Tennessee (my great grandfather Charles Cartwright Jackson (abt.1852-abt.1911) lived near thee. I ran a quick compare on our gedmatch, and it looks like we have some strong connections, though I cannot figure out why. Looking into that and wish you the best in your research!
I'm Sharon Matzinger, born Sharon Ann Bader to mother Rosemary Bader, in the St. Ann's Hospital (for unwed mothers) in St. Louis, MO, in 1951. My mother told me that "Fuzzy" was my father and everyone told me I looked just like him. My mom met Fuzzy at Scott AF base in Belleville, IL. They moved to Riverside CA, when he was transferred in 1951. My mother flew home, pregnant, when she found out he was already married. He came to our house once when I was a baby, and I have that photograph, along with letters between him and my mother. I see that he died in 1975. Do you know what he died of? Many thanks, Sharon
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.
Kind regards,
Pippin Sheppard – WikiTree Greeter
Thank you for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree it generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through either accepting or rejecting all suggested matches, once that has been done, you add any remaining names manually
The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
For those using Chrome or Opera browsers, there is a tool that can help with the formatting of profiles which have been created through GEDCOM, so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
