Harold Knight RA was born in Nottinghamshire, England.

Harold was born in 1874. In 1881 he was living with his parents and siblings on Derby Road, Nottingham. His father was working as an architect. ^[1]

On the 1891 census Harold was living with his parents and siblings on Elm Avenue, Nottingham and was an art student. ^[2] Harold studied at the Nottingham School of Art where he met Laura Johnson whom he later married. He also studied in Paris.

Harold married Laura Johnson in 1903. ^[3] They moved to Cornwall in 1907 where both Harold and Laura were involved with a colony of artists known as the Newlyn School. On the 1911 census they are recorded as visitors to a household in Falmouth. Harold and Laura both have their occupation recorded as artist. ^[4]

In the 1939 register Harold and Laura were recorded at an address in Malvern. ^[5]

He passed away in 1961. ^[6]
