Abigail Knight was born on 31 October 1730 in Newbury, Massachusetts, recorded as the daughter of George and Judeth Knight.[1]
Her family removed to Falmouth, Maine (then part of the Province of Massachusetts Bay), where her father purchased land in 1733.
On 11 October 1760, David Whitney of Gorham and Abigail Knight of Falmouth registered intentions of marriage.[2] Abigail was his second wife.
