Biography

James was born in 1838.

He first married Mary Ann Fairweather on 18th Feb 1852 [1]

They had 5 children together but only 2 survived to adult hood:

Mary Ann (Knight) Ransom (1852-1950)
Elizabeth (Knight) Sullivan (1854-abt.1882)
Rebecca Knight (1856-1857)
Emily Knight (1858-1858)
William Knight (1859-1860)

Mary Ann died in 1861

James remarried to Jane Heayns in 1862[2]

Another possible daughter - but all I have read say that Leila is the youngest daughter of the family - Harriet may belong to another James & Jane Knight?
