DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:
I removed Ransom-946 as wife of this Samuel Knight because she married him in Colchester, Connecticut. This Samuel Knight has no connection with Colchester, Connecticut.
[2 1/2 years later] Looks as though Knight-633 got merged into Knight-462... but I'm intrigued by your 2017 comment that at least one of them appeared to have "no connection with Colchester, Connecticut".
Per my private message, I suspect that may have been true where his origins are concerned. He looks to me as though he came into Colchester by 1718 and was "voted an inhabitant" (my translation of the 1718 Colchester record's language).
Did the original Knight-633 show a specific origin somewhere else???
Apparently there have been a lot of changes to this profile since I posted the message that this profile had nothing to do with Colchester, Connecticut. All of the transcript above from the Colchester records was not posted by me because I don't post an entire page of records like that. Plus, why would I post it if I didn't believe this Samuel Knight was from Colchester? So I'm trying to figure out how this profile got into its present shape. Knight-462 and Knight-633 were apparently merged, but I'm having a hard time reconciling my position with the merge. I will probably throw my hands up in surrender.
It will probably take me a few hours to research the answer to that question because I painstakingly look at all evidence that I can before making a decision. I don't have time to delve in right now, but I will as soon as possible. It's been awhile since I did the initial research. I try to track the Knights, Husseys, and Hardings to keep the family lines straight because there are so many of the same name living at the same time.

"Fascinating, Captain."
