↑ 3.03.13.2 Source: #S6; Quote: In 1851 the membership numbered over 200. The log church was too small so it was torn down and the present brick building was erected on the site. Like its predecessor, the brick church was of native material, put together by the efforts of the entire community. The first pastor in the new building was John Knight, a veteran of the War of 1812.
↑ Title: Letter from JW Chapman to WB Chapman and Mrs. Nellie Darnell; Location: Twin Falls, Idaho; Date: April 5, 1922; Repository: Ancestry.com: User: djgarza; Published: 10 Nov 2012; Quote: I also think that Grandmother Chapman's family were of Revolution stock from Georgia. Her name was Anna Knight. She had four brothers John (a Baptist preacher), Thurston, Preston who settled in Missouri xx and near Kansas City, and Nelson who settled near Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri and raised a family of four boys. I think they settled in that country and reared families and of the boys. George lived in xxxxxxx at one time many years ago. I was well acquainted with one of Preston Knight boys, W.A. Knight. He was in the real estate business and owned large holdings in Kansas City. Thurston left boys who were there at that time.
