Biography

Albert Jr was the Son of Albert Knight and Mary Mason Rainy [1]. He married Patsy Amanda Corley Knight (1835 - 1895). Albert and Patsy had children Seaborn R Knight (abt1855), Mariah V. (abt1858), Ann E. (abt 1859), Mary Mason Knight Valentine (abt1861), and Ora Azlene Knight Duckworth (1863 - 1919).[2]Albert Knight died in 1887 and is buried at the Knights Mill Cemetery in Jones County, Mississippi [3]

  • there is a story that his mother's real name is Rebecca Griffith or Griffin the story is that she got her current name because she was found by a group of Masons on a rainy night[4]. As far as we know this is only myth no real proof also this story has her coming from Tennessee and according to a former slave of the Knights as well as information from census she came North Carolina. [5]
  • I believe he was in Clayton's Company (Jasper Defenders) during Civil War the name and dates are right but Albert Knight common name so not 100%[6]
