Margaret Knight is Notable.
  • An American Inventor - invented the flat-bottomed paper bag & the machine that made them, a numbering machine, window frame & sash and others.
  • Called "The Lady Edison" by some media for her prolific inventions[1]
  • d/o James Knight (died when she was little) & Hannah Teal[2]
  • After successfully suing Charles Anan, who stole her design and patented the product, she received her patent in 1871[2]
  • Was the first woman to receive a US patent[2] for which she received an honor from Queen Victoria
  • never married
