George Knight was born in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts on January 31 ("Jan. ult."), 1701/2, recorded as the son of Benjamin Knight and Abigail his wife.[1][2]
His parents were Benjamin Knight and Abigail Jaques Knight. [1]
He was married in Newbury on February 3, 1725/6 to Judith Moody.[3] She was the daughter of Joshua Moody and Mary Greenleaf Moody.[2]
On 26 July 1733 George Knight of Newbury in the County of Essex purchased 60 acres of land in the town of Falmouth, Cumberland County, Province of Massachusetts Bay (now Maine). The land was sold by John Graves, cordwainer of Falmouth, for a price of "sixty pounds currant money of New England."[4]
The exact date and location of George's death is unknown. He was residing in Falmouth, Cumberland County, Maine at the time of the 1754 Maine Census and it is presumed that he died there, sometime after 1754. [3]
