Hi

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far?

Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them.

I'm here to help with issues and questions about how WikiTree works. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send a private message.

Rick ~ WikiGreeter

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.

PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.

Thank you for volunteering, Ken!

You are now a full member of the WikiTree community. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Start with the New Member How-To pages — they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around.

When you are ready take a look at projects, there may be a One Name Study for your surnames, or one covering your research location(s).

Take your time, and let me know if you need any help using the site.

Hilary ~ WikiTree Greeter

P.S. If you get error messages when you click links from WikiTree emails, try the links from your profile page.

Ken, this for your information.

You currently are a guest on WikiTree. If you want to join as a full member of WikiTree, you need to :

1) Volunteer - there is a green link labeled Volunteer in the orange box which will take you to this page. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Volunteers

2) From there add tags to show your genealogical interests such as tags for family names of mother, grandmothers, locations. These can also be posted on your biography or a comment box.

3) Be sure to Volunteer.

Then any greeter will confirm your membership on wikiTree (which is free) . After this you will be able to start adding your family.

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section of your profile page.

Ken, Thanks for your message. You can add GEDCOM now, or after you have joined.. That is up to you

I am sending you some links for GEDCOMS. You also have the option of adding ancestors one by one. (that is what I did when I added my ancestors. At this time, you will see the ancestors that need to have researched sources.

WikiTree has a learning curve, but you successfully added your DNA. I think you will be successful.
