In 1871 John Nott (age 40, General Dealer) lived in St George with his wife Charlotte (31) and four children: Sarah (9, Scholar), John (7, Scholar), Alice (5, Scholar), and Alexander (3).[2]
In 1881 John Knott (age 50, General Labourer) lived at Star St in St George in the East with his wife Charlotte (41) and four children: Sarah (19), John (17, Fishmonger), Alice (15), and Alexander (13, Scholar), as well as lodger Mary Connor (38, Hawker).[3]
John Knott passed away in 1885, aged 51 years. His death was registered in St George in the East in the last quarter of the year.[4]
