Biography

Obediah Knowland was born in Clark, Indiana on 17 May 1812, son of Edward Knowland. He seems to have married twice, and may have been a civil war veteran based on familysearch.org records. He and first wife Sarah Chappell had up to eleven children (9 living at the time of the 1850 census).

He remarried possibly after returning from the civil war, Caroline S Hentorn b. 1831, almost 20 years his junior. He died on 17 May 1882 in Clark, Indiana
