Biography

Rebecca Knowles, daughter of Samuel Knowles (1651-1737) was born about the middle of March 1690 in Eastham, Plymouth Colony. Her mother was Mercy (Freeman) Knowles (1659-bef.1745).^[1]

7. Mercy, born 14 June 1727; married Thomas Foster, Jr.
8. Lemuel, born 2 September 1729; died October 1738
9. Hannah, born 5 August 1732; died 10 June 1736

Probate

Rebecca died intestate and on 8 December 1755, Thomas Mayhew of Plymouth was granted the administration of her estate.^[4]

Her inventory was taken on 19 January 1756 in Plymouth.^[5]

In 1770, an account of her estate by Thomas Wetherell was recorded which included repairs to the house, debts paid, doctor, gravestones to be bought, and administration fees.^[6]
