Biography

Daniel was born in 1746. He is the son of James Knowles and Mary Libby.

From Hufbauer, p. 24: "Daniel and family lived in Rochester until about 1791, the moved to Porter, Maine. The parents of Daniel's 3rd wife, Mary Libby, and several other Libby families had settled around Porter. Here they lived until 1817 when Daniel and family, Isaac and family, Hannah, Jemima and their families all moved to western New York."[1]
