Biography

Warren was born 11 Sep 1790 in Belchertown, Hampshire, Massachusetts, United States to Rosel Knowlton and Sophia Goodell.[1]

He married Mary A. Dunbar, sometime before 1815, when their first child was born. They had 7 children:

  • Josiah, 1815-1909 marr. Sarah Lippitt
  • Emeline, 1817-1836
  • Rosel or Roswell D, 1819-1883
  • Hiram, b. 1821, died young in Virginia
  • Nancy, 1823-1884; marr. W. S. Burt
  • William, b. 1825, died young in Virginia
  • Mary, 1832-1885; marr. Albert Lawson of New York City

Rev. Warren moved to Virginia in 1817 and cleared a farm there, which he later lost through a defective title. In 1843, he moved to Cumberland, Ohio, where he was a merchant. He was also a minister in the Baptist Church.[2]

Warren died in 1856. He is buried at the Alexander Cemetery in Hebbardsville, Ohio.[3]
