Biography

Hugh Knox, son of John and Elizabeth (Gaston) Knox, was born about 1755 in County Antrim, Ireland.[1]

He married Jenet "Jane" Nesbit, daughter of James and Nancy Nisbet, in 1790.[2]

Hugh died on 21 March 1821 and was buried at Catholic Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Blackstock, Chester County, South Carolina. His memorial has extensive biographical material and links to those of family members.[2]

He wrote his will on 3 March 1821 which went to probate on 2 July 1821 at Chester County, South Carolina. He identifed his wife Jennet, children: James, Hugh Boyd, Lucresy, Mary, Elizabeth, and Serah.[3]
