Esther (Knox) Donald was born about 1830 in Convoy, County Donegal, Ireland, daughter of John Knox (abt. 1785–abt. 1861).

She was the youngest of her siblings.

Esther (age 34) arrived on the ship White Star on 9 September 1863 in Melbourne, Australia having departed from Liverpool^[4]

She travelled with husband George [35] and daughters - twins Jane and Martha Ann (7) and Rebecca (3). They had 3 more daughters after arriving in the Colony of Victoria.

Husband George was born as George Donnell. Shipping records to Australia list the family name as Donnell, however once in Australia the name became Donald

The family settled at Sugarloaf Creek near Tallarook, Victoria, Australia ^[5]. Tallarook is 12km south of Seymour - where Esther's sister Rebecca had settled 10 years previously.

Esther died on 1 Apr 1875 in Seymour, aged about 44, leaving her husband George and 6 daughters then aged between 6 and 19. ^[6]

She is buried at Seymour Pioneer Park [Presbyterian] with husband George  ^[7]
