Biography

Eva was born January 30, 1887 in Logan, Kansas, the daughter of Josiah Knox and Taletha Carver.

In the 1900 census Eva (age 12) was living with her family in Lamar Township, Barton, Missouri, United States.[1]

Eva Knox married widower Eli C Keesler on November 27, 1906 in Kanorado, Kansas.

In the 1910 census Eva (age 22) was the wife of Eli C Keesler in Flynn, Sanilac, Michigan, United States. The census shows they'd been married for 4 years, had 2 children and both were still living.[2]

Eva's son Gerald Keesler married Phyllis Sade on November 2, 1940 in Sandusky, Ohio, United States.[6]

In the 1950 census Eva (63 years old) and Eli (71 years old) were living in Maple Valley Township, Sanilac, Michigan and none of their children no longer lived with them.[7]

OBITUARY
Mrs. Eli Keesler
BROWN CITY -- Mrs. Eva Keesler, 84, a Flynn Township resident since 1909, died Friday in Lapeer General Hospital after a short illness.

She was born Jan. 30, 1887, in Logan, Kan. She was married to Eli Keesler on Nov. 27, 1906, in Kanorado, Kan. He died April 30, 1961.

She was a member of Brown City Missionary Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Abbie) Stempel, Mariette, and Mrs. Earl (Telatha) Wilcox, Brown City; three sons, Camby Keesler and Clifford L. Keesler, both of Brown City, and Gerald Keesler, Port Huron; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Alice Johnson, Skiatook, Okla.; and a brother, Clifford Knox, Brown City.

A son Jacob Keesler, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Missionary Church with Rev. Gordon Schwab, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Remains will be in Carman Funeral Home until noon Monday when they will be moved to the church.[9]
